The one thing I have learned today is to not push your kids into growing up too fast. A couple of months ago I was selfish and pushed and pushed Sadie to potty train. I was tired of changing two diapers and felt she was old enough and smart enough to do it. I had many friends who had successfully trained their kids who were Sadies age. I knew without a doubt she would be a piece of cake. Most of you may remember it didn't end very well. Sadie plain out wasn't ready. She would cry and hold her bladder for almost 24 hours. We thought she had a bladder infection so she had to get a catheter put in her, just for the doctor to tell us she was fine and just wasn't ready to potty train. So we stopped. We didn't talk potty for a while. Just recently we have been reading her her potty book again and just have been talking about it. She all on her own wanted to wear her panties again. I let her just for a couple of days without even asking her to sit on her kid potty. Then I started leaving it in the living room so it was accessible to her. She has been sitting on it all on her own, and even has been going BOTH all on her own. I have been so happy just letting her go at her own speed. It just shows me that they know when they are ready.
We are no experts, but I really am so thankful for a husband that is so good at raising kids. We are really against letting our girls "cry it out" at night. I know most of you think we are crazy, but we are so thankful we have done it this way. The girls love their bedtime now and are so excited when we read to them and sing songs every night. That is my favorite time of the day. They have their favorite books and songs we sing every single night. lol
I don't really know what this post is about, but I guess I am just so proud of both of them and love them so much!! They are the sweetest girls and have made me such a better person!!! Can't wait to have another one!!!!!!!! I AM BABY HUNGARY!! lol

well you know I don't think you are crazy. (= Great job Sadie!
Every family and every kid is different! Never think you are crazy! My motto is "as long as the kid knows who the parent is and who the child is, it's all is good"!
You are a great mom for sure! Keep it up and Awesome job Sadie!!!!!!!
CONGRATS TO SADIE! Potty training is by far the hardest parenting I have ever done. We never pushed it, but dang did I want too! I think the worst part is when you KNOW that they "get" something, they just don't want to do it. Patience is truely the answer to most parenting issues though! Good luck with your baby hunger...I'm sure you and Justin would be awesome parents to three as well!
YEAH Sadie! I'm hoping that I can have Chloe at least willing to try by the time our new one comes along. She is interested but a little unsure. But hey I have 9 months right. =)
And next week sounds great! Just call me and let me know when. I have a pretty open schedule. =)
Hip hip!!! That is sooooo great. Now just pray she doesn't want to wipe herself right now. SIGH!!! We are dealing with that right now. I would rather deal with that than paying for diapers!
I love the end of the day too. I crack up with the comments they have when we read to them or their versions of songs. Plus bedtime is a great reward for moms when it has been a long day!
thats so great! Good job Sadie! I am trying to potty train draven right now. i thought i would get a head start...i think weve just about got it. lol PS i dont think youre nuts at all
You know, Potty training is one thing that I definitely think the kids know best when they are ready and you just can't push them without really bad results. I think girls are even more that way than boys. Good job and yay for Sadie!
Great Job Sadie! See going potty in the toilet aint no thang- Tip: when she wants to go in the adult potty my friend said it is good to face them the opposite way so they can hold onto the potty when they go and wipe, etc etc. plus a bonus most kids like that they can continuously flush while doing the deed. :) Go Sadie..Go Sadie..Go Sadie!
I could never do the "cry it out" either...and we do the same- books and songs. I love it too. I guess the reason why is because throughout all the craziness of the day you have a peaceful loving time to sum it all up and start off good the next morning, rather than ending it with screaming right?! You are such a great mom Becky! I'm all for changing your blog to 3 bald babies! :)
Hooray for Sadie!! That is so great! I love that we are so blessed to have the inspiration of the Holy Ghost to know what our children need individually. What a blessing!!
